Is it totally against the sisterhood to say that I think chicks can be
mean? Evil perhaps? Remember those bitchy girls in junior high and
high school? The ones that were so insecure and unhappy with their own
lot in life they had to make everyone else around them miserable and insecure?
Those evil wenches grow up and become very angry and bitter women. I managed
to avoid most of them in high school, and thus far in my adult life....what I
didn't manage to escape? Inheriting someone else's toxic chick in the
form of one angry, bitter and unhappy ex-wife.
There is nothing I can do about that mean girl....but the thought of the
country being run by a mean girl, in the unholy form of Hilary Clinton, is more
than I can handle.
Let's look at some of the common traits that these mean girls have whether
they are in the chrysalis stage of junior high student the pupa stage of an
ex-wife or the butterfly of a candidate for President:
1)
Gossip....they thrive on it and pass it out like candy on
Halloween. Nothing gives them greater joy than pointing out an another
persons faults, usually to keep the focus off of their own issues and faults.
2)
Character assassination....the junior high student calls her rival a
"slut"...the ex-wife calls the ex-husband "scary"...the
candidate calls her main rival inexperienced which really means unworthy.
3) Engage others to do your dirty work....the junior high girl gets
her girlfriends to say to the intended victim, "So, I heard that Jimmy is
going to ask Susie to the dance (not you)" The ex-wife gets the moms
in carpool line to say, "Gee, I heard the kids aren't visiting for a
while" The candidate gets her advisor to say things like,
"Obama's admitted use of drugs as a teenager could be used against the
4)
Using the machine at hand to take down rivals...........The junior high
girl uses the social machine to take down a rival. They make sure the
victim does not get into the right clubs, doesn't get invited to the right
parties, sits at the wrong lunchroom table. The ex-wife makes sure to
poison all the social outlets with lies...church, school, sports teams,
neighborhoods. The political candidate uses the IRS, the Feds and the
Mainstream Press to float rumors, open private files to find the sweet spots
and use the power of the government to shame, scare or scar victims into
silence.
5)
Assume the mantle of victim hood....The junior high student breaks down
in tears if confronted and bemoans how "mean" the victim was and that
she didn't mean to be cruel, she was just protecting herself. The ex-wife
gathers all of her chick friends around and talks about how "mean"
the ex-husband was and how she has to "protect" herself to justify
her lies. The candidate talks about "the vast-right wing
conspiracy" that tried to take her down and that their existence justifies
her behavior.
6)
They enjoy the pain of others.......The junior high girl enjoy watching
her rival sitting alone at the lunch table, rebuffed from a party, ignored at
tryouts....the ex-wife enjoys alienating her children from their father, the
teachers and coaches from him, the shunning in church or town....the candidate
enjoys watching a 22 year old girl called "that woman" and being
lambasted as demented young girl...a rival withering in jail...a career
destroyed.
7)
They all are sisters in insecurity, self-doubt and self-loathing..........The
junior high girl will never feel she can match the perfect bodies in Teen Vogue
or have the wardrobe of Paris Hilton. The ex-wife is unable to live up to
the adolescent dreams of who she thought she would be and, rather than take
ownership over that, it all becomes the ex-husbands fault...(extra baggage if
wife number two is cuter, thinner, younger and has a big girl
job)...........the candidate knows that on her own, she would never have made
it as far as she has...that she is where she is because of riding a man's coat
tails....that the paragon of the feminist ideal let a man cheat on her and she
swallowed it all for the sake of power...the ultimate sell out....the ultimate
whore.
Mean
girls grown up........do you REALLY want to revisit junior high??????
