So...having grown up in Chicago and bearing witness to the charming fellows surrounding the man behind the Office of the President Elect podium, seeing old Gov. Hot Rod hauled out in handcuffs gave me a warm, nostalgic feeling...like my grandmother's chocolate moon cookies or my mom's late night talks. Chicago, crook county and dirty politics go together like rain and rainbows...like Bill and Monica...like Obama and socialism...
Hey America...welcome to Chicago-style politics on it's way to the Nation's capital. You are welcome!
ps....Hey O-man...could you please take Corzine with you? Pretty please?
Corrupt Democratic machine politics. Chicago, Phila., and NJ. could all use a Republican like Giuliani to clean up the crooks.
If the above cities and states were run by Conservatives the last 50 years would they be completely different? [ answer = yes ]
Hypothetical- If you were driving alone in an American ghetto [ 50 years liberal policy mind you, helped make it such] would you be more at ease surrounded by 1000 pimps, hookers, crack dealers, and gang bangers, or surrounded by 1000 Jehovah wistnesses or Southern Baptists. I know the 2nd can be annoying at times, but everyone knows the answer to this. It is not the economy stupid, its the morals stupid.
Reply w/o profanity if possible.
Thanks, Mike.

What did Obama have to do with it?

Hmmm ...
I was shocked when I read about the governor’s blatantly corrupt behavior ... I thought that certainly there would very soon be news of an indictment or at least an impeachment of this scoundrel who had betrayed the public's trust. To my surprise Obama has even apparently come out and called for his resignation (although distancing himself from any prior discussion of the topic with the governor ... a conversation which has surely taken place). Seemed like things were moving in the right direction.
Now I read in the paper that the governor is back in his office today and unapologetically conducting business as usual. Worse still I read 3 separate editorials stating that this sort of behavior is simply an extreme example of the sort of deal making that is part of the political process that we have all come to know and love.
OK … Maybe I am a little too new to the political process … Maybe I have a Pollyanna view on the world … but geez, this seems like a cut and dry example of corruption. No one should be making light of it. It should not make you fondly remember your Chicago roots. I would expect that this would be more of a wake-up call telling conservatives and liberals alike that there is too much of this going on and we have come to accept it with too much apathy
At a minimum … it has made me decide to read the paper more often
Thanks
Richard
